I am a graduate of the College of Practical Homoeopathy, London and the South East School of Homoeopathy and I've been privileged to be able to train under some of the world's most eminent homoeopaths. I have written a couple of popular textbooks on homoeopathy - the "Remedy Notes" series - which I'm pleased to say are widely used by homoeopathy students and practitioners.
For a long time I was active in charitable work at a national level and as a Trustee to the Homoeopathy Trust, an educational charity run by the Society of Homoeopaths, which has an international membership. It's a great thrill to see people benefit from this work.
I'm a father of three and an artist in my spare time - I painted the big portrait of Grace Kelly, which hangs on the landing in the Clinic.

About Homoeopathy
Homoeopathy is a system of medicine that aims to treat disease, illness and imbalances in your life. It was founded by an eighteenth-century physician, Samuel Hahnemann, and operates on the principle of "let like cure like". The aim is to find a substance which would produce, in a healthy person, the same symptoms which you as a patient are suffering from. These symptoms are not just physical: they can be mental, emotional or spiritual. For this reason consultations allow plenty of time for the homoeopath to get a complete understanding of how you are - in the fullest sense.
Homoeopaths also work on the principle of the minimum dose. Homoeopaths believe that it takes only minimal dosages of a substance to create an effect in you. Indeed, it is not the remedy that creates the effect - it is you. The remedy merely gives your body - or rather, your life force - the impetus to heal itself. Homoeopaths claim that the smaller the dose, the more potent it is. A process called potentisation transforms a dilution of the remedy substance into the powerful remedy which is incorporated into the liquid or tablet which you will be given.
What can Homoeopathy help with?
Homoeopathy is suitable for helping most physical complaints, whether acute or chronic. Emotional and psychological issues are also commonly dealt with by homoeopaths. Homeopathy can provide support at critical times in your life, and homeopaths can offer impartial advice when you are considering important life decisions.
In all, homoeopathy has numerous applications and the people who visit a homoeopath are as varied as the complaints and concerns they present with.
As well as questions about your medical history, the homoeopath will be interested in other aspects of your history and personality: significant events in your life, your family's history, food likes and dislikes, temperature preferences, fears and even dreams to see what influences there are over your current state of being.
Homoeopathy is not a "quick fix" and there is no set timescale to resolve problems which are presented. Some patients see very quick results - maybe in one or two visits: other patients may need many months of treatment. Your symptoms may change over time while you are taking remedies - this is all part of the process of cure and shows that your body is in a dynamic, reactive state (and is therefore able to achieve ultimately a state of balance - of "health"). You may experience the return of old symptoms while undergoing homeopathic treatment - this is a frequently seen phenomenon and is a sign that your treatment is working. So your asthma, for example, may give way to a bout of eczema which you had some years earlier. The return of symptoms like this tends to be milder than the original occurrence, and generally does not last for long.
